Eric has been keeping the place going over the last couple of weeks, while I've been busy with work and whatnot. He's done a great job!
The potatoes in particular are looking fantastic! I can't wait to see what we get off them. They were just some Tesco potatoes that had start to sprout in the fridge - and only one of them failed to grow.
This was the best of my courgettes - it did have several flowers and a couple of developing fruits!
This is now the best one left, and it's flower is half gone!
I do reckon we'll be in for a good apple harvest though :)
We spent a few hours today catching up with the weeding. We managed to get through the strawberry bed, potato bed, the 'shed' bed, and half of the brassica bed.
We had a visit from the crows (bribed by bacon rind) and they brought a new friend with them! It's another smallish one, which seems quite young. It was pecking at everything, seemingly to find out what it was.
Also the wee birds have really taken to the birdbath. There was a dozen or more on there around lunchtime, all drinking and having a splash.
